These are really good door knobs for bed and bath, simple, straight forward and you can insert a quarter to lock these door from the outside, They fit perfectly for this application

This Mountain Security interior door lock is very well-priced new. It looks better on my bedroom door than the one it replaced. I moved into a place where the bedroom doorknobs were all non-privacy types because the previous occupant lived alone and didn't feel the need for them. The strike plate on this unit was too small for me to even think of using it without resorting to cutting into the doorframe. Luckily there was a larger strike plate that I had taken off an exterior doorknob I'd replaced, and it matched the color of this knob, so I filled in with that instead of cutting into the frame and it worked perfectly. I did wish that an alternate backset had been included with this, as the one (and only one) included was too big and I wound up having to cut into the door itself to make it fit. Also not included: a skeleton key for those days when you accidentally lock yourself out of your own room. Ah well, I keep a small Philips head in the kitchen and that works fine. On that note: this is merely a privacy lock, not a proper security lock. Interior use only!
