These masks are not for protection from COVID or any of the other viral infections going around. My reason for saying this is because the material is stretchy and very thin. It is good for blocking construction dust maybe but for help with congestion or avoiding colds or flu, if the material was doubled it would be a better and more effective mask. It's a good mask for those who have taken the COVID shots and feel you don't really need to wear a mask but for news and community's sake, you can use these and be comfortable that you are applying to business rules to wear a mask. I am now using the Viva Signature Towels inside the mask to give me more protection. As far as the comfort around the ear and remaining in place, I would give these masks a 5. I guess I will eventually wind up with only 5 masks because I'm going to sew two together and remove the earpieces from the inside mask for a better fit. Doing so will still give me enough mask-protection from tiny particles of the viruses to wear out for a week, and still be able to breathe comfortably. I could not give a recommendation because people are buying masks not to look safe, but to really be safe.
