Once a big name in international downhill skiing, he has now withdrawn to the snow-covered wastes. Since skiing is no longer of interest, he begins to overlook his duties. Instead of issuing ski passes and making sure the ski lift is working, he spends his time smoking, drinking and lazing about. Then one day an old friend turns up and tells Jomar that he is the father of a child living in the north. After accidentally torching his dwelling, Jomar sets off on his snowmobile. However, without his snow goggles, he does not get very far. Blinded by the snow, he has to seek help from a young woman who lives with her grandmother in a remote hut. Jomar discovers that, like himself, she is a lonely soul who longs to be with other people. This is just one of many strange encounters along his journey to meet his child.
