I got two of these to replace the 9-inch-high folding stepstools I had in my garage and kitchen. Those few extra inches of height are a game-changer! I can now see the shelves I putting pans or wine glasses on to, and reach all the way to the back. Yet, the stool is stable and it is not at all difficult to hoist yourself up in one step without losing balance. And, it sill folds small enough to fit behind my trash cans.
