This book is a study that investigates the ways speaking skills are taught and assessed in the English department especially within the new reform of education. Part of the study reports the teaching practices that Moroccan EFL university teachers use in speaking classes, and it demonstrates the extent to which these practices are effective. Another part of the study focuses on some of the problems that make the teaching of speaking skills in a CLT (Communicative Language Teaching Approach) way challenging within the Moroccan context. The last part of the study reports the techniques that EFL teachers use in order to assess speaking skills, and it describes the variables that the teachers use in order to evaluate the students' level of speaking.
