Sauder Steel River Desk, Milled Mesquite Finish

Assembly was a lengthy procedure for me personally. It was to go in my teen son's room upstairs and I wanted to put it together before he got home from school. Because of the heavy weight of the box as a woman, I chose to assemble most of it downstairs, then took each half and the finished drawers all up the stairs separately. I completed the assembly in his room. I did go over all the pieces checking for quality. One piece had a corner where about a half inch of the finish was gone. I checked and found that the side with this damage was going to be on the inside of the right side drawer, so I let it be. He has rustic dark wood bedroom furniture with iron accents already that match the Carbon Oak finish almost perfectly! This desk feels solid, the weight of it helps that feeling lol. He has been using it for studies and gaming and says it's great. I did purchase the protection because I had another piece of furniture with a similar type of fake finish that disappeared on edges. So we'll see how this finish lasts with daily use.
