It eventually worked
This filter is much longer than the standard filters for my Sunbeam SCM1100, but after wetting it to make it pliable I was able to snake it back and forth to get it to fit in the base of my humidifier. Looking down on it from the top it looks more like a ruffle instead of the circle that filters usually form. Fortunately the cover and fan unit did fit on top, and I have been using the humidifier without any problems.

Never again from this third party seller!!
First of all this item is mislabeled. These are NOT replacement filters for a humidifier. They are paper replacement filters for the air purifier. Second, I will never purchase anything again connected to this third party seller! Resolving this has been a nightmare with delay after delay on their part! If Walmart is going to allow third party sellers to sell through their website then Walmart needs to be in charge of the returns!
