Tried it out on a $25 dog harness that was ready to break. I have big hands, bad eyes and limited stitching skills but the awl was easy enough to use, at least on this project. Took about 1/2 hr to fix. Tying it off was a little tricky - used 2 pair of needle nose pliers.
