Silhouette Printable Adhesive Foil 8.5"X11" 8/Pkg-Gold

Maybe I got a bad batch? It's beautiful foil, but it has two problems: (1) When cut, even with scissors or a simple rotary cutter, it makes gummy residue everywhere (never had that problem with my other adhesive materials which are mostly Avery office labels, maybe Avery uses better adhesive than these hobby/craft-oriented products?), AND (2) even the slightest smudge of a damp finger will SMEAR your beautiful gold printed label - I use high-quality water-resistant ink but the Silhouette gold foil has a NON-water-resistant COATING (probably necessary for proper printing with low-end consumer inkjet-printers that use water-based inks) but the PROBLEM is that the foil's coating comes off extremely easily, taking the printed ink with it. I do not know if the foil's moisture-resistance problem could be fixed by (AFTER you print the foil) spraying it with an acrylic sealer or artists' spray fixative or something - I didn't get that far because the gummed-up-adhesive problem was sufficient in itself to keep me from using this product. I really, REALLY wanted to be able to use this product because it's so pretty and nice looking, but I can't get past its flaws. I would like to find out that it was just a bad batch or something, in which case maybe someday I'll reorder and try again, but for now I'll do without. :(
