I unpack, set up my brand new Sirius receiver and call Sirius to register and start subscribing. I got a rude awakening from Sirius when they told me that there is no record of the serial number of the receiver in the records and where did I get this from? I told them WALMART. After 30 mins. of them telling me they can't send me a signal because there's no record of this receiver, they find the serial number, but they tell me it's not really a SIRIUS receiver. It's an XM receiver and because of that, I will not have all of the stations I had with my Sirius Sportster receiver. If I want Howard Stern and several other stations (that I formerly had), they are considered PREMIUM stations by XM and I will have to pay extra per month for them.
Rather than do that, I told them to cancel my subscription and I will return this XM receiver and get a pure Sirius receiver. This is all rather confusing to me. Look at the name of the item. It's labeled as a Sirus-XM Sirius Edge receiver. You would think it would be treated as a Sirius receiver by the company, but no. There are playing games with the public and with WALMART. They shouldn't be calling it a Sirius receiver if the Sirius people are telling me it's really an XM receiver. Very disappointed! Then, they suggested I purchase a true Sirius receiver and docking kit from them for half the price of this one, which is what I did. When it arrived, the docking kit was the wrong part that they sent and not compatible with the receiver they sent me. Not happy with Sirius. Not Walmart's fault.
