material is super soft and pockets are sown shut to make sure stitching of material was done right. this allows this type of material to lay right during manufacture process. I simply opened the stitching to use the full-size functional pockets. pockets are at chest and sides. I ordered another set for me in a bigger size. the material is a sherpa like pile that is feather soft but will be warm whatever you wear it with. Zipper neck gives you room to adjust to your comfort.

Bought this for my son who loves comfy jackets. He finds it very cozy. Son is a lefty and told me the zipper on this jacket is perfect for him as it's on the opposite side as usual jackets. Don't know if it was an error on the jacket, a brand deliberate design, or a lefty jacket. I never really paid attention (I'm a righty!) but my son was pleased to have a jacket for lefty 😊
