The first Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes compilation to be released in America since Super Hits, this 2013 collection casts a wider net than that 2001 set, incorporating a couple of cuts from Southside Johnny's albums for Universal. Even with "All I Want Is Everything" and "Why Is Love Such a Sacrifice" on board, Playlist concentrates on Johnny's classic work for Epic, drawing almost equally from I Don't Want to Go Home, This Time It's for Real, Hearts of Stone, and the promo live album Jukes Live at the Bottom Line.
