Igloo 1/2 Gallon Sports Beverage Plastic Jug with Hooks, Gray

it's a great product, but a half a gallon is too small. I live in Phoenix AZ and when you go to the gym you know you're going to need more than a half a gallon of water to power thru.

Let me start by saying that I am a big user of and believer in vacuum-insulated stainless-steel drinkware – especially tumblers. I own several vessels of that type and use them frequently. My experience is that they are generally superior to other drinkware options when it comes to maintaining the desired temperature of your beverage of choice. That being said, this little beverage jug is pretty impressive. At first, I was concerned it would leak because there’s no sort of rubber seal or gasket on the jug itself or the lid. However, preliminary testing in the kitchen sink and subsequent real-word use has proven that it does not leak or dribble even when inverted. Also, I have found that it insulates surprisingly well. This is likely due, in part, to what Igloo calls “Cool Riser Technology.” This basically consists of two feet on the bottom of the jug that lift the majority of the base of the jug off of the ground and out of contact with surfaces that would transfer heat to the jug while also allowing air to flow underneath. It sounds gimmicky, but it seems to work. The jug also has hooks on the handle that you can use to keep it completely off of the ground. My primary use for this jug has been to transport and hold beverages in situations where a tumbler would be less than ideal. Specifically, sport practice (volleyball) and outdoor day trips. For those purposes it has worked admirably. It keeps drinks cold for extended periods and does not leak. While too big for a cupholder, the size isn’t burdensome to transport. Also, the extra capacity comes in handy for maintaining hydration over extended periods. The jug seems pretty rugged even though it feels fairly lightweight. I did not hesitate to toss it around a bit and it suffered no ill effects. I am not the least bit concerned that it could be damaged by being struck by a wayward ball or similar hazard. It’s also BPA Free, so it won’t make you sick. Overall, this is good little beverage jug that will get lots of use.
