I searched for rooftop carriers to hold up to 4 pairs of skies and boot bags. I found several but the prices were a little more than I wanted to spend. The SR7017 seemed reasonably priced so I decided to give it a try. The shell is a little more flexible than I was expecting or hoping. It was easy to install. I was a little worried about the attachment bolts holding securely but overall the unit held our skies just fine and the unit stayed put. I traveled about 400 miles at highway speeds and no problems. Four pairs of skies and boot fit, but that's about it. The longest pair were 170's but it could take up to 190's I think with no problem. So far, so good. Seems like a good carrier.

You definitely get what you pay for. To be honest I have not used this yet. First impression is the plastic used for the box is not heavy duty and bends/buckles/deflects at the slightest touch. The two plastic hinges I would expect to break after 2-3 long road trips. When the box is closed it doesn't fit together very well, the lid closes 2-3" beyond the latch. This is probably due to the low quality plastic materials used for the hinges/box. When I close it I force the lid back so the top latch lines up with the bottom latch. If this product wasn't at least 1/2-1/3 more cost effective than it's competitors I would be upset.

May not mount to your car
After doing much research I found this car cargo box would met my needs. Everything pointed out saying it would mount to my 2003 Pathfinder. After receiving the cargo box it became very clear that the mounting hardware would not fit my factory roof rack (the square U Bolts were not wide enough). The U Bolts are held with a completely plastic device that looks like it would break after a few uses. I am in the process of ordering new square bolts and a mounting system that will be able to with stand my travels for years to come.
