I use to buy large cans of shellies %26 green beans at Walmart. They were distributed by a very popular brand %26 all the sudden I couldn't find them anymore! I even called the company to ask where I could find them to purchase %26 I was told they had been discontinued! NOOOOO! We tried every different brands of green beans %26 none of them would compare to the ones we had become to love to eat over the years! We just didn't like any of them! You see, I was raised on Blue Ribbon green beans out of the garden. If you've never had them, you have missed out on some really good green beans!! After my Daddy got older, he didn't put out a garden. Sad, but understandable. We had a neighbor/friend that would grow them %26 we'd buy from him. My Momma %26 I would break, wash %26 if she didn't can them, we would freeze them! It was very hard work %26 that was years ago! After the homegrown green beans were gone, I had to get creative for my family to have what tasted like those green beans like Momma use to make! I came up with what my family thought tasted just like Blue Ribbon green beans out of the garden! I worked with them %26 added in here %26 there, simple things but they ended up they were really good!
