Christina is my 3 years old daughter. During her "terrible twos" we were reading each night multiple books before falling asleep. After a while, we have read multiple times all our books so we started making stories from our imagination. This was a game that Christina really liked and enjoyed. I think it helped her develop her imagination, soothe her fears, participate actively in the story, and create a really strong bond between us. One of the stories that we used to tell is this one about Tom and the Bees.
Tom the cute little bear, the forest and the forest animals, the dark night, the kind bees and the supportive parents are all characteristics that children love to think and imagine. At this age telling stories about bad wolves and hunters doesn't seem relaxing before falling asleep.
Story
Tom the kind bear adores eating honey from the neighbor bees! In his quest for honey, he enters into unexpected trouble inside the big forest. The night falls fast and Tom spends the night in the woods. Fortunately, the queen of the bees not only saves him but offers to share with him each day a spoon of honey.
Authors
Written by Angelos Alexopoulos and illustrated by the multi-talented illustrator Anastasiia Hryvtsova, Tom and the bees is a fast-paced adventure that teaches our children about kindness, mutual respect and the value of family and home in a dramatic, adventurous and happy ending way.
Please, do not stop reading to your child
