Very soft, but be aware that washes silk does wrinkle. I ironed it with a damp cloth which smoothed it considerably. Also check the size before you order, this pillowcase is small, smaller than a standard puffy fiberfill type pillow. Luckily I own several old down pillows that have lost volume over the years and one is just the right size now for this pillowcase. I bought this for my daughter and she loves it.
