Known as the "Khufu" boat, it has yet to be determined whether it was a solar boat. The belief of the ancient Egyptians was that "Ra", represented by the sun, travelled across the the sky in a divine boat during day and night journeys.
As a result, these boats were called " Sun/Solar Boats'Äù.
These are part of the funeral boats belonging to King Khufu, which is believed he would use during his journey from across the sky after death.
The boat was displayed inside the Boat Museum next to the pyramid of King Khufu.
It was created there as it was there that this funerary boat was discovered in a pit.
This pit still remains inside the museum, and it represents the original location where the boat was placed in ancient times.
The length of this pit is 31 m, its width is 2.60 m, and it has a depth of 3.5 m.
The total number of blocks that covered this pit was 41 limestone blocks.
The wooden fragments that were found disassembled remained preserved inside the pit.
The covered a total of around 650 individual parts, and these parts were arranged with great precision and care.
The "Antiquities Authority" collected them and restored parts of them until they reached the shape that they would have been prior to being placed in the pit.
