The unit is very safe. Just plug it in and ad water. Check the water daily. I keep a small bottle of water with a lid so it wont spill. Usually the bottle last about a month. The unit keeps me warm at night.

Lots of potential but a few things to keep in mind

This doesn't get nearly as warm as the temperature settings but it's still really nice! Keep in mind there is no timer so it will be on all night unless you manually switch it off. The pad itself does allow for you to feel the tubing and it is a bit stiff at first. I put another blanket on top to help with that overall not perfect but some nice features for sure.
