I had been shopping around for the right wall decor that would go above the chimney mantel. This wood carving is beautiful and adds that missing piece above mantel. We removed the hooks and actually mounted it and nailed it to the wall and just used caulk to hide the nails. It worked and secured it to the wall nicely. It is MDF and not solid wood so it's not as heavy but it's substantial. The design is beautiful. It has an antiqued, white chalk washed look. I was looking for something like this. It was the size we wanted as well as it is large and covers a good portion of the wall. It helps frame our chimney and mantel nicely. It came in a box nicely packaged and protected. Came just in time for us to decorate for Christmas.

I was excited about receiving wall decoration, but really unhappy on the quality. It's just pressed wood and a couple of the corners got buggered in shipping, obviously due to the weight. Not at all the finish or color shown in picture. Not worth what I was charged. Sorry, never enjoy giving a bad review :( If I could give it 2 1/2 stars I would. 50/50 satisfied.
