I'm quite happy with them so far. I acquired a pair for 'tubing' down the Salt River near Phoenix (Arizona). As the name implies one takes an old inner tube and floats down the river. Out here in the Sonoran desert it can get quite warm and the river bed is rocky. The rocks on shore can burn and they are quite uncomfortable to step on when walking barefoot in the water. Typically old sneakers are used. Inexperienced use flip-flops (definitely not recommended). The float boat shoe is perfect. Can’t wait for the season to start. (High temperature of the day needs to be at least 100F). Definitely should follow the recommendation of one size larger than normal. If you're in the Phoenix area, I highly recommend tubing. Great scenery (one spot one can float next to a 560 foot tall mountain, one stretch about a mile long has a 'forest' of saguaros lining the north bank and the lower segment of the tubing area has a couple of groups of wild horses. Worn these twice so far in the American river. Goes perfect with my hybrid khaki shorts and a short sleeve button down. I wear a half size and I ordered one up at first but they felt like they could slip off. So I traded for a half size down.
