Bamboo needles are the best

16 inch circular needles are essential for knitting hats. The bamboo material makes it easier to grip the yarn so it is less likely to slide off and make for dropped stitches. This is a good brand. Too bad Walmart decided to decimate its Fabrics and Crafts department. There are many people locally who used to rely on it as a source of supplies for handwork projects.
