The iPoint Evolution is an excellent pencil sharpener. The plastic packaging it came in was very easy to open, unlike most tough plastic packages that even scissors can hardly cut open. The sharpener is made from recycled materials, which is a plus. It was easy and quick to set-up. I didn't need to worry about finding batteries that worked because the sharpener plugs in. The thin chord is long enough that the sharpener can sit on my desk or even in the middle of the living room when I'm working on a project. I like the sharpener's sleek look and grey color. Most importantly, the iPoint Evolution is an efficient, effective pencil sharpener. It sharpens pencils very fast and turns off when the pencil is sharp. I don't have to guess whether my pencils are sharp or not. There is a clear compartment for pencil shavings, so it is easy to see when it needs to be emptied. The top portion of the shavings container comes off so the sharpener can be turned over and emptied, without leaving a trail of shavings everywhere. However, the entire clear shavings compartment can come off as well, and this could make a mess if I open the wrong section of the sharpener when emptying it. The various sections of the sharpener lock on, so I don't have to worry about shavings getting everywhere if the sharpener tips over. I don't think the sharpener will tip over easily because of the grips on the bottom and the wide base. The best features of the iPoint Evolution are its speed and the fact that is stops when the pencil is sharp. I would recommend this product.

Emptying the iPoint Evolution is easy, and there are a few ways to do it but I found that the quickest and neatest way is to simply unplug it, hold it over the wastebasket, and remove the lid before flipping it over to empty it. Since I will be using this pencil sharpener in my home office, I would have preferred a model without a cord. That said, the fact that it needs no batteries provides a great advantage for people who want to use it in a school or office setting where it might go through batteries quickly. Its size also makes it ideal for settings where it will be more heavily used than I will be using it at home. In short, this is a great looking pencil sharpener that performs well and is suitable for home, school, and business use.
