You definitely need to be a dancer to really be able to do this video. I, unfortunately, am not a dancer. It was really too hard to follow along for an extended amount of time because I do not have a dance background. That being said, I was able to hold out for about 30 minutes and was completely exhausted and sweaty! I love Tracy Anderson's mat workout, which can be frustrating until you do it enough to know what she is going to do next since there is not very much warning or instruction throughout that video. However, that DVD is one of the only ones that I have done for an extended period of time without getting bored. My advice would be to do this DVD if you have a dance background or do another form of cardio and do her mat DVD for strength.

Don't buy unless you've been dancing for years

I've taken my share of dance classes, to include dancing in high school and college, so I'd like to think I can pick up on things rather quickly. This video however is a royal pain in the behind. I REALLY like Tracy's Mat DVD. It's easy to follow and I can definitely feel the burn throughout. This dance cardio dvd is completely opposite and it makes me extremely frustrated. They walk you through 7 different (difficult) combinations (maybe more, I fast forwarded after 5) and then by the time you actually do the dance portion, you've forgotten all of the steps to each different combination, and end up just bouncing around. I would have liked her to break down a dance combination, then actually spend the 5 minutes doing it over and over again (as in a dance class) before going on to another combination. If you're a professional dancer, you may really like this DVD. However, for the normal person who wants to "get a lean dancers body", you're going to get really overwhelmed and frustrated. I may spend another day or two on it, learning one dance at a time and then doing the routine directly after, but more than likely, I'm going to return it.
