this work just like all the rest of them do. depending on the food, sometimes you have to work at it to get the blades clean but it does come with a brush . I was pleased with it. the blades come in two different sizes. the smaller one is good for chopping onions and celery very small. the bigger one is good for salads for peppers and zucchini. it all fits together very nice and it's easy to take apart and store.
