For any fan of literature and medical science.

I bought this book for a friend who loves mysteries, because it is my personal favorite. It's a riveting murder mystery written by a medical student, and follows the main character as he navigates the twists and turns of a corrupt medical field while trying to find a murderer and clear his friend's name. Many pages contain medical footnotes explaining terminology and procedures to keep the reader in-the-know, and although it is at times controversial (the "murder" is a botched abortion done in a time when abortion is outlawed) and does not do much to address any of the moral dilemmas it introduces, it's an excellent read.
