The Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx is a all terrain, all season tire manufactured for light trucks.
The tire provides great all weather traction. The tread block placement and the durable silica-enhanced compound work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The compound keeps its flexibility even in colder temperatures, while the tread elements find firm grip throughout the year. The wide grooves avoid hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint and ensure a secure driving experience. The constant road contact and traction guarantee a safer performance both on- and off-road.
The tread design upgrades the model's versatile terrain performance. The tread blocks firmly grip the soft, loose and uneven terrain surfaces. As a result, the tire is capable of handling harsher off-road surfaces with ease. The special tread features stone ejectors, wide grooves and the dual-draft and non-parallel groove walls keep the footprint clean by eliminating mud and snow and ejecting rocks stuck between the tread elements. The constantly clean footprint and the excellent traction ensure a secure on- and off-road driving experience.
The tire was manufactured with the Armor-Tek3 carcass construction. This increases the tire's durability against the driving pressure and road conditions affecting it. The stronger structure prevents the deformation of the tire's optimal shape, which allows the model to perform well in all conditions and on all road and terrain surfaces. The reinforced construction, along with the chip and cut resistant tire compound, also protects the tread area and the sidewalls from off-road damage and promotes exceptional driving security.
The Discoverer S/T Maxx's tread pattern features a hybrid four-five rib design that places the tread blocks into a Y-shaped pattern. The optimized tread block placement evenly distributes the driving pressure along the tread area. In this manner, the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking are equally spread out along the tire's surface, which actively resists the formation of irregular tread wear. The prevention of uneven tread wear lengthens the tread life, making the tire usable for a longer period of time.
The intended purpose of Mud Terrain tire types is off-road use. They are not designed for regular highway driving.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
