Branched Chain Amino Acids - do they work?

I am on the fence. I have always been a gym rat but after turning 46 I noticed my recovery time slowing and hit a plateau back in my 30s. So I started adding BCAA to my protein shakes be cause I was told it would help with theses issues. Mixes well with the naked shake but I am not sure if it is helping.
