Living in Southern ...

Living in Southern California, we use Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 tires on our AWD wagon, allowing us to venture into the mountains without fear. We travel to Mammoth Mountain every few weeks and the confident handling associated with these tires is phenomenal. We have driven on snow and ice covered roads, when the roads should have been closed (and were closed right after our drive). Yet we never experienced any slipping or handling issues whatsoever. These are fantastic winter tires!

Second Set for me

Living in Colorado makes dedicated winter tires a must if you spend anytime in the mountains. I bought my first set of Alpin PA3s for my 4.2L Audi A6 two winters ago. A sidewall puncture during our most recent week-long subzero Arctic freeze required a complete new set and I did not hesitate to get a new set. They are extremely quiet and handle so well on snow and ice that you can drive as aggressively as you do on dry pavement. They are also excellent on dry pavement which unfortunately allows you to leave them on longer than necessary, probably resulting in premature wear. I love them.

Quiet and Smooth Ride

I really like these winter performance tires on my 2012 BMW 328i, actually more so than the standard run flats that came with the car. They are both quiet and provide a smooth ride while still providing the handling that I expect with a sports sedan. Traction in snow and on wet pavement has been excellent. I highly recommend them.
