Surpringly Good

King is spotty when it comes to follow-ups, so maybe Straub (whose 'Ghost Story' is my favorite horror novel) gets credit for helping raise this one above the norm. After all, there's not a bad entry in his 'Blue Rose' series. Whatever the case, it's's a shame we may never get the proposed third book in the trilogy (unless King actually does forge ahead on his own, about which I'm still unsure how I feel), but let's be grateful these two titans gave us two fibe books.
