I knew I had to get the one with heated water and seat or my husband would have never even tried it. I was quite skeptical about cleaning effectiveness which is one reason I never got one before. However, with worldwide shortage of TP, I was thinking of alternatives if we ran out, and of course Facebook kept promoting bidets in their ads. We couldn't be happier - if you use it correctly, it works perfectly. We even have our own "butt towels" to dry off - which is great because it saves the TP for other times it might be necessary (no electricty or visiting friends). We also have a septic system - how great is it that we can reduce the amount of TP that goes into that system. Initially, you might think that you're using more water - but if you do it right - you don't use your hands for anything but the remote - so you don't have to wash your hands afterwards (which sounds weird, but it's true) - so it's a "wash" (pardon the pun). Also, it's environmentally friendly because it can take 12-37 gallons of water to make one roll of TP, where a bidet would use a fraction of that over the same period of time.
