I waited until we'd had the chance to use this dishwasher for six weeks before reviewing and am extremely pleased with its performance thus far. Only a single item came out less than immaculate, and that was due to a loading issue on my part. Pros: *I don't pre-rinse dishes anymore. Scrape the scraps off and put the dishes in the dishwasher. If you're going to wait until the machine is full, use the 9 minute rinse to remove the worst stuff. My water bill dropped 15%!! *Everything gets clean. I love to bake bread from scratch without using a bread machine. The mixing bowls and rising bowls tend to have dried on dough before the machine runs and they all come clean, as do the utensils I put in the third rack. *China and crystal were run on the Delicate cycle without rinsing. No water spots and no nicks in my dinnerware or glassware. *The floor light is a nice touch, since the only times we hear the dishwasher running is when it's adding water or draining. *The third rack saves a remarkable amount of space to wash small items, yet my one cup OXO measuring cup and balloon whisks fit without a problem in the center part of the rack. I also do home canning of our backyard produce, and the rack works great for pre-washing canning rings before the boiling water bath. Cons: *We have Lenox 18/10 stainless flatware that discolored the first time it went through a cycle on the third rack, utilizing the loading pattern shown in the Operating Instructions. I don't know if this is due to the detergent (Finish Powerball), the flatware itself or something about the wash cycle. But rather than risk further problems, we now wash the flatware by hand, leading to *Removing the long silverware basket out of the dishwasher altogether. Most of our cooking utensils fit in the top rack, and there's no point risking our flatware by using it. On the positive side, there's more room for large items in the bottom rack. *We have Dansk dinnerware that we use everyday. It has a slight lip at the edges of the plates, which means that the narrower tines in loading pattern at the front of the lower rack are too close together to put the plates in each slot. We've started leaving an open slot between each plate to ensure cleanliness. We are able to put the dinnerware in the wider slots at the back of the bottom rack. This means that unless you're washing something thinner, like Corelle or fine china, you won't be able to wash 12 place settings at a time.
