Its high-performance steel back provides exceptional fatigue life. A carbide-tipped blade lasts significantly longer than carbon steel and bimetal blades when cutting abrasive non-ferrous materials and wood, especially tropical hardwoods like ebony, koa, and cocobolo. However, avoid using this blade to cut round logs unless you have a sawmill specifically designed for this purpose. For use with a metal-cutting bandsaw, it is ideal for cutting ferrous metals such as alloy steel, tool steel, bearing steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, and mold steel. Measure your old blade using a soft cloth measuring tape: Uncoil the blade carefully, then press the tape tightly along the back edge of the blade and measure its full length. 4. Measure on the floor: Mark a starting point on the blade and on the floor, roll the blade in a straight line until the starting point touches the floor again. Measure the distance between the two points. 5. Cut the blade in half and lay it flat on a level surface to measure its length accurately.
