This is a wired headset, but to use the lights requires a separate usb plug that is realistically only available on a PC setup. The headset comes with a built in cable which has a split tail (one 3.5mm audio/mic plug and one usb-a plug for the RGB) that is only about 6" of each line that can't be split further because it has a block built in the cable to prevent that. See pictures. What this means is that unless your 3.5mm port and usb port are one foot or less apart, you won't be able to use the rgb lights at the same time you use the headset for audio. Basically, all gaming consoles will not have both of these ports that close together since generally, the headphone port is on the controller, and the usb ports are on the console itself. You can still use the headset with no rgb lights, but this headsets biggest feature is the rgb lights. So it's rather unfortunate that they never thought to remedy this problem when designing this.
Using this headset with a smartphone works, but it also may be difficult if your phone is in a case since the cable plugs are bigger than most phone cases will allow. The plugs on this headset are larger than other headsets. In the picture, the black cable is for comparison. These plugs are too big to fit into my phones headphone port without taking the case off. Which is rather annoying.
I can only conclude that using this headset with a PC is the ideal application, and anything else would be lacking in some way or require additional accommodations to get working.
As for the headset itself, it is quite attractive looking. Especially so with the lights on. They create a flowing rainbow effect that continuously changes slowly. The entire outside of the headset lights up, and two strips across the top. The top head strap is padded, but it is plastic underneath. This headset is on the lower end for price, but the audio quality is decent, and it gets louder than many others with 50mm drivers. It's probably not durable enough to be throwing it around; however, I'm certain they're being marketed to girls who are maybe more careful with their things. The cat ears ARE optional, though, and it could be used by anyone, really.
Pros: RGB is really cool if you have a setup to use with. They're still generally attractive even without the rgb. The padding on the earmuffs is a puleather material that is very easy to clean. They are quite comfortable to wear. The mic has an indicator light. Also, they are generally well made and have a high-quality look to them.
Cons: The attached cable does not work for most nonPC setups and doesn't give many options to correct it. Having an attached cable means you can never replace just the cable it if it wears out. The plugs are large and impossible to use with most phone cases.
Other notes: this comes with minimal instructions and includes a separate splitter cable for the earphones and microphone, which can have separate ports on a PC.
