all i needed in a fountain pen. would rather have had screw on cap instead of snap on, but no issue. manufacturer generously installs screw type ink refill cartridge that you can use over and over. that's a definite plus. i use dye printer black ink for my refills and that seems to work fine for my rudimentary needs. medium nib is fine. nib is smooth but not too smooth. nib works best on quality paper as do all writing instruments. fits your writing fingers and wrist perfectly.
