Jalapeno jelly? yum?

You might naturally think that jelly and jalapeno would be something that wouldn't mix well but surprisingly the contrast between the spicy peppers and the sweet jelly is actually quite tasty. I found a recipe for ham sandwiches using goat cheese and this jelly on the bun along with ham and greens of your choice. The contrast in the flavors is quite yummy. A little goes a long way this small jar does quite a few sandwiches.

YUMMY! JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF HEAT.

This pepper jelly is so delicious on a Triscuit or other cracker with cream cheese and a dollop of this on top. I had forgotten just how great this actually tastes since it is hard to find good Hot Pepper Jelly. I think it actually tastes best when cold from the frig. It is just hot enough to be great for all ages over about 5 years old and not too hot for older adults. We love it!

Normally I make my own batches of pepper jelly, but I ran out. I usually make cheesy thumbprint cookies or use it with cream cheese and crackers. I was nervous to try store bought, but I am really glad I did. It was delicious, and it had just enough kick that everyone could enjoy it.
