Marmot Men's Calen Jacket, Black, M

This jacket is awesome! I am 5'11" 185 lbs and the large is perfect. Its loose enough to use layers under it. I have used it under my winter jacket for 0 degree days or by itself with a T shirt when temps are above 40ish and sunny. For windy/rainy days I use my Marmot Gravity softshell jacket. I live in a low humidity high mountain climate. I was recently caught in a rain, sleet, snow mix and the Calen kept me dry while shoveling the driveway. Not meant to be an external layer in a rain/snow storm but I didn't feel like going inside to get my Gravity jacket. It did get slightly wet but the water beaded up and did not soak through. I love the lined pockets and collar as well as the zippered chest pockets. I have other Marmot jackets and this is one of my favorites. My wife was tired of me wearing my Marmot Variant everywhere. The Calen is a better all around jacket where the Variant is better for exercising. The Gravity is more wind and rain resistant but heavier. The Calen is a solid choice! It also looks great and feels great.
