Arminius was the son of Cherusci, a leader in the Germanic tribe. Taken hostage by the Roman Empire at a young age, Arminius was educated in their ways of combat. He would later use these skills in combat to lead occupied Germanic tribes in a rebellion against the Roman Empire, which resulted in their liberation.
The course of history was changed by Arminius in his noble quest to liberate his people. For the first time in history, the Roman army withdrew from an occupied territory under his leadership and the halting of their empire's expansion can be traced back to the Germanic people led by Arminius.
