Perfect size for a sliding window. Fan stands up well either direction even though only one side locks into the frame. Helps with removing odors from a teenage room or filling the room with fresh air. The thermostat works well as it shuts the fan off if it gets too cold. Cord is 6 ft, wish it was 10.

I had no fan like this to use during cooler evenings when I don't need to run my heat pump. Now I can shut down my AC to save power and enjoy this quiet fan with a thermostat that can be set so you just turn it on and forget about it until the next morning. The volume of air flow is a lot for my small home. I can run this now instead of using the AC when I only need to remove cooking smells and the heat emitted by cooking, lighting and my Audio Video system. This is a highly engineered design meant to take advantage of efficient low noise high flow fan blades in close fitting tunnels, with the ability to run just one fan while the other two fan openings act as an exhaust. I like the white color for transmitting more light from outside. Recommended for smaller homes. For larger homes you'll want two of these or a big window box fan to move enough air. The adjusting of the fit for my window was easy - just added one of the hard extensions they provide and then expand open the other panel and close the window on it. Only one minor issue I had to fix -- the rubber seal on the end of the extension panel was too loose and it would slide off when moving the fan around. I just added a bit of tape to prevent the rubber from sliding up or down in its loose track. No big deal. The controls that work from either side of the case are a neat idea, as is the way the power cord can be laid in either direction during use, depending on whether you are using this for exhaust or intake of air. I like the white color but regarding ability to open up the case to remove accumulated black dust that these plastic blades and tunnels will attract... it looks doable, just remove the case screws and clean it out. If you select the black version of this fan it will not show that dust accumulation in the fan tunnels. Personally I would not want to bother with a remote control just for the very few options the switches offer and the delicate electronics required in the fan are just one more thing that could break.
