Super excellent compared to "classic" ice cube trays. These have silicone rubber bottoms that help pop out the cubes when frozen. I bought a 3 back and then another one after using them. 6 trays fill a typical "ice bucket" completely full. The cubes are huge and say cold quite well in NoLa weather. I really like these. They have lids, which means no spilled water. Super easily stacked in your freezer. Great for your apartment (no icemaker) or cabin in the woods. I haven't used them for whiskey, but they are great for water, juice and soda, too! If you reuse drink cups from restaurants (like Wendy's large soda cup), these are perfect. You can put 6 cubes in and keep it cold for at least an hour. I *need* ice in my beverages (except hot coffee) so I'm tempted to buy more, but I don't really need more than the 6 that I have...as long as I don't get lazy refilling them, of course!
