Well, I had to read the Instructions and I think I speed read them so I actually opened the bottle and put the sticks in the top of the bottle all of the sticks! I don't know if that's what the direction said. I really speed read like I said. But the smell was just too strong for the house. I had to take it out to my tent shed where we store a lot of products for our business. I know I use citron to get rid of bees and bugs in the tent shed and it worked perfect so I put it in my tent shed that is the only place we could stand the scent it put out. It was so strong!!!!
