Rubbermaid FastTrack 2.3 in. W x 7 ft. D Silver Metal Hang Rail

I just installed three 48 inch rails and one 84 inch rail. Took me all of 45 minutes. It could not have been easier. It's the most economical system on the market. I agree that the last hole on the rail does not line up but seriously, is that a huge deal??? I just made sure to use an anchor at the end and I double dup on the three other studs that I did hit, I put one screw in above and below, problem solved....I'm hanging extension cords and shovels not 100 lb. dumbbells! Love the product.

I installed fasttrack system in my garage. It looks so much better than assorted hooks the previous homeowner had. System is sturdy and strong. Improvements: I wish the holes on the rails were slotted, similar to how the TV mounts have. The slotted or oblong holes are much more forgiving when the studs are not exactly 16" apart. I drilled a couple of screws at an angle because the hole on the rail was completely off the center of the stud. Fasttrack could also save some aluminum by making the holes slotted. As other users have pointed out, there is no way 48" rail could hit 4 studs. First and last holes are 1/2" from the ends. So the distance between first and last holes is 47". What was Rubbermaid thinking? It would have been great if hardware pack included some linking part so that rails that adjoining each other could somehow be tied together for additional strength
