The way this indie production is packaged it looks like your typical "give up everything to follow your dream" stereotype dance movie. It's not. The credits say the movie is based on a true story and true stories are a lot more complex than your average dance movie. It's about getting your priorities right, about how real people have real lives, real loves and a whole load of baggage from their past--no matter how hard they try, they can't just dump all this in a minute and fly off to eternal stardom. And it questions whether "making it" as a dancer is really the best of all possible worlds. I was held by the unpredictable story line, mature dialogues and rock solid performances by an attractive, talented cast. The soundtrack is very good too, and the movie takes place in some beautiful locations in Italy, which is another unexpected surprise. There's some good dancing along the way but it's about a lot more than just the dance. Worth a watch.
