Aircraft Prototype History:
The F-84 Fighter Was The First Fighter Jet Developed And Produced By Republic Aircraft Company For The United States Air Force After World War II. This Aircraft Is The First Jet Fighter In The United States Capable Of Carrying Tactical Nuclear Weapons. During The Korean War, The F-84 Used Bombs, Rockets, And Napalm Almost Daily To Attack North Korea' S Railways, Bridges, Supply Centers, And Moving Troops. The F-84 Fighter Jet Made Its Maiden Flight On February 26, 1946, Began Mass Production In June 1947, And Was Discontinued In 1953. Approximately 4450 "Straight Wing" F-84Es (With Swept Wing Design As F-84F) Were Produced. This Aircraft Is Not Only Used By The Us Air Force, But Also Provided To Many Western Allies. The History Of The F-84 Fighter Jet Can Be Traced Back To 1944, When Republic Aircraft Company Independently Invested In Research On Jet Fighters As The Successor To The Famous P-47 "Thunderbolt". At First, The Design Team Led By Alexander Catvili Of The Republic Corporation Considered Installing Jet Engines Directly On The P-47'S Fuselage, But Soon Found It Impractical And Had To Start Researching The New Aircraft From Scratch. The F-84 Series Has A Wide Variety Of Models, Mainly Divided Into Two Branches: The Straight Wing "Thunderjet" And The Swept Wing "Thunderstreak". The Early Flat Wing Models (F-84B/C/D/E/G) Adopted A Traditional Flat Wing Layout. The F-84E Was The Main Fighter Bomber On The Korean Battlefield. The Final Flat Wing Model F-84G Had The Highest Production, Reaching 3025 Aircraft, With Increased Aerial Refueling Capabilities And Autopilot, And Was Exported In Large Quantities. In Order To Improve Performance, The Later Swept Wing Model (F-84F/RF-84F) Developed The F-84F "Thunderstreak" With Swept Wings. The Reconnaissance Model RF-84F "Thunderstreak" Moves The Air Intake To The Wing Root And Installs A Camera On The Nose. The F-84 Played An Important Role In The Korean War, Especially In Carrying Out Low Altitude Interception Attacks On Railways, Bridges, And Troop Gathering Areas. In Aerial Combat With The Mig-15, Its Performance Was At A Disadvantage And The Air Exchange Ratio Was Unfavorable, So The Focus In The Later Stage Was Mainly On Ground Attacks. F-84 Is A Typical Transitional Model That Connects The Past And The Future. Although It Was Quickly Replaced By More Advanced Supersonic Fighter Jets, It Successfully Completed Practical Verification From Piston Aircraft To Jet Aircraft, And From Straight Wings To Swept Wings. Its Powerful Ground Attack Capability And Versatility Have Set A Benchmark For The Development Of Subsequent Fighter Bombers.
