Then, fill a basin with cold water and add a suitable neutral detergent such as one specifically for wool or silk. Stir to dissolve the detergent. Place the shawl in the water and let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Gently press it with your hands in the water but do not rub or twist it forcefully. Rinse and absorb water: Replace the water and repeat the pressing and rinsing process until there is no foam. Then, lay the shawl flat on a dry towel, roll it up like a sushi roll, and gently press it to allow the towel to absorb the excess water. Remember not to wring it out. Lay flat to dry: Finally, lay the wet shawl flat on another dry towel or a clothesline. Arrange it properly and place it in a well-ventilated and shady area to dry naturally. Avoid hanging it to prevent deformation due to the weight of the water.
