Trash from day 1

Purchased in Nov of 2022 installed as soon as I got it and it was easy but wasn't ready to start cranking on my project for a few more weeks. When I was ready to start the 302 in my 51 Ford, this starter was not. I was well past the 6 weeks to return it and just gave it to a friend to see if it could be repaired. Brushes inside smelled burnt and he just replaced it all with the components from another starter with a broken case. I'd like to think things would have been different had I caught this within time limits and return policy but when I tried to let jegs know I was never contacted. I get 4 or 5 emails or texts to buy more so I'm sure the contact info is up to date.
