Replacement carburetor rebuild kit for the 2000-2002 Arctic Cat 500 platform. The Arctic Cat 500 was the company's flagship utility ATV during this era, combining Suzuki's proven 493cc liquid-cooled engine with Arctic Cat's class-leading chassis design. Unlike the air-cooled 300 and 400 models, the 500 used liquid cooling for improved thermal stability during extended operation under heavy loads, making it the preferred choice for serious utility work and towing. The engine's compression ratio of 8.5:1 was conservatively tuned for reliability and regular fuel compatibility. The Duramatic CVT automatic transmission included an engine braking system that prevents freewheeling on descents, a critical safety feature for mountainous terrain. The manual transmission option was offered only in 2001. The same Keihin CVK34 carburetor (0470-449) was also shared with the 2002 Arctic Cat 400 manual transmission models. Common rebuild indicators include fuel overflow from stuck float valves after storage and rough idle from ethanol-damaged pilot circuit O-rings.
