It was difficult to find a sturdy gate that could affix to the wall and banister. This gate fit that requirement. I will caution if you are not "handy", you will need assistance. The instructions are awful - virtually non-existent. However, if you lay out the parts and give it some study it won't be difficult to install. The final product is sturdy, and "attractive" (as attractive as a security gate can be). I'd recommend this product for a mounted gate.

the quality of the product is really nice and other reviews say it's hard to put together but if you read the instructions there's a link to a very helpful app, use it!! gives video of each step and all the pieces used, couldn't have set up without this video. there was a piece that wasn't cut properly and I had to widdle off plastic with a wood chisel to make it fit, then at the last step realized the holes in the gate had to be facing down and also that the connectors to secure the two pieces together only work if you can get them aligned a specific way, which may not work based on the width it says it can go up to as it needs a lot of overlap to fit the pieces correctly. overall worked for our baluster with an overhang of floor-to wall situation, just needed lots of tweaks through the process.
