Put the drill in forward, dummy.

I don't normally leave reviews on anything but after reading all of these here I had to share my experience with these carbides in my daily work as an industrial electrician. I don't know how everyone is busting theirs in <10 holes or so....are they all apprentices? I've had my little kit since before the covarona plague hit and have easily drilled 50+ holes with each size and without issue. Sure, I've seen them bust a tooth before but only when being pushed too hard or because little Scooter didn't set the torque on the drill to stop before self-destructing. I won't say it's impossible for one to break when properly used but this many reviews all claiming the same failure I felt compelled to provide some opposition to those claims. My coworkers and I use these routinely....and I just don't see that being the case in my neck of the woods. There's my $.02c

Nice clean holes, till a tooth fails

Using the 7/8" bit was nice for the first 8 holes into 12 gauge stainless plate. Then a carbide tooth chipped and the whole bit is garbage. The replacement bit lasted 11 holes before a carbide tooth fell out. I thought proper technique and lube would have a bit last much longer than it does.
