Cause & Effect

Cause and effect is a hard concept to understand for my second grade students. This resource will help them to understand as well as receive extra practice in this area. My students will enjoy the variety of topics including many non-fiction such as Elephants in the Wild, Glaciers, and Deserts on the Map. The resource contains a variety of layouts and difficulty levels in order to differentiate instruction and hold students interests.

Great resource for any primary teacher!

The Spotlight on Reading book, Cause and Effect for grades 1-2, is a very versatile resource. It provides 37 different activities related to cause and effect relationships. The activities range from very simple ones where they explain what cause and effect means to very complex paragraphs followed by questions to be answered. The types of answers required to complete the activities also vary from multiple choice to fill-in the blank answers. Many of the activities can easily be used with younger children. In my kindergarten class, I used the passages in both large and small group instruction. Although the students could not read the passages, they could answer the questions when the passages and questions were read to them. Answers to the questions are included in the back of the book. Great resource for any primary teacher!
